Topics:

Managing Stress for Improved Parenting… Being a parent has been said to be the most fulfilling, yet stressful, job you may ever have. It is very important for parents to learn how to manage the stress in their lives so that they may be better parents. Learn to identify and work through the stressors in your life and in parenting in order to enhance your ability to respond more intelligently to both the challenges, and precious moments, of parenting.

Relaxation Techniques for Parents… The healing benefits of learning to deeply relax (body, mind, and spirit) have been written about for centuries. Learn simple techniques of concentrating and breathing to help release stress, reduce emotional reactivity, and boost your capacity to manage the stressors of parenting.

Healthy Communication for Parenting… Healthy communication is the foundation for any successful relationship. Learning how to express your feelings and needs with your child in a healthy way is not only important for your emotional health, but also teaches your child to find more effective ways to express his or her feelings and needs in return. This can have a powerful impact on the quality of your relationship with your child.

Developing Self-Understanding and Compassion for Parents… Parents often report: “I can’t believe I just said that to my child…I’ve become my mother!” It is important to be aware of and understand your parenting style and what motivates your parenting behavior. Understanding and learning from your own childhood experiences can help you to have compassion for yourself in your role as a parent; perhaps one of the first steps in raising a child who thrives.
